Brought my 2022 4Runner in for oil change. I purchased it there as certified used ,and bought the extended Toyota Platinum warranty -glad I did. During vehicle inspection at the oil change the mechanic found a defective front strut (X-Reas ) and several other suspension parts that were worn. Five stars is not enough for this rating; there should be a 10+ rating. I usually go to the original Gettel on US 41. I received a call a couple weeks ago from Nikki letting me know the Gettel off SR64 is currently running a special for the month of August, I get there and the level of service was way better than I expected. Granted, they didn't have the Camry I was looking for and was ok with it. They can't control inventory. Later on as the weeks progressed, I received a call from Kassidy stating they have a car I'm looking for and has been with me every step of the way. Saturday, I received a call from Alex wanting me to come by Saturday to take a look at some Camry's and the Camry I was interested in, I don't know what kind of a hat Alex and Kassidy pulled my car out of, I was blown away and had a clothes hanger smile on my face. The next part of the process, I can't say enough on how helpful Chris was. Chris happy for me and made the signing of the paperwork a joyous time. He even helped me with my Geico app and was a HUGE help with switching over my current car to the new car. I also want to get a big tip of the hat to Alex. While we were signing the papers, I laughed and Alex made signing the papers just fly by. The last part of the night, Kassidy was kind enough to stay behind and sit with me to help get my Toyota app and Bluetooth set up. From start to finish, everyone was great! I've had crappy experiences with Buy Here Pay Here lots and had ok experiences with a few dealerships where they look at you as a dollar sign. Gettel sets the bar high and treats their customers like family. Both Gettel's on US 41 and SR 64. Thank you to the Big Store off 64 for a great car buying experience. I recommend this dealership hands down.

The process went well because of my sales associate, Joseph Brewer and Adin ( sales associate trainee). I was in the market for my first truck, a 3rd-generation Tacoma, and my first stop was Gettel Toyota of Lakewood. I met Ken when I walked in and went for a test drive. That first Tacoma had a chip in the windshield right in front of the driver, which was an immediate turnoff, and it also seemed to have a rough idle, so I passed. I then went to Gettel Toyota of Bradenton and, unfortunately, had a pretty painful experience. I dealt with the sales rep and about 10 different people coming over trying to negotiate a deal. That truck was a TRD Pro, same year, and similar mileage; and they were at $39,000 OTD. We couldn't agree on the numbers (I wanted $38 OTD), so I left. The next day, I saw another Tacoma at Lakewood that I hadn't noticed when I stopped by the first time, so I went back and test drove it with Ken. This one checked all the boxes for me, however it was an SR5 trim and the dealership wanted $39,000 OTD. Having just looked at a same-year TRD Pro with similar mileage for roughly the same money, there was no way I was going to entertain $39K for the SR5. It had only been on Lakewood's lot for six days, so I understood they weren't going to be desperate to move it yet. I told the manager John that if they could do $37,500 OTD, I'd buy it that day. They weren't willing to budge, so I thanked them and left. Over the next few weeks, I kept searching for exactly what I wanted: a one-owner, Toyota-certified, no-accident, low-mileage, V6, RWD Tacoma. There really wasn't anything comparable in the area. Thankfully, the one at Lakewood didn't sell. Every week I watched the price come down... and down... and down. Before I knew it, the same truck that was $39K OTD was now $36K OTD. I was a little surprised nobody contacted me as the price dropped below the offer I'd already made, but that ended up working out even better for me! By that time, the truck had been on the lot for 31 days, I contacted the dealership through the website chatbot and offered $35K OTD. The manager Javon told me they couldn't do it, so I figured I'd give it one last shot and went in the following day. We ended up making the deal at $35,500 out the door. So in the end, being patient saved me $2,000 compared with the $37,500 OTD offer I had originally been ready to buy it for. Sometimes being willing to walk away really does pay off. Bebe helped me with the purchase that day since Ken wasn't there, and she was very nice to deal with. I was happy with the customer service she provided, and once we agreed on the number, the rest of the process was easy. The finance manager was great as well. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name, but there was absolutely no pressure. I already had financing lined up through my credit union and wasn't interested in purchasing any extras. He respected that, didn't turn it into a drawn-out sales pitch, and I was in and out of finance in probably 15 minutes. I really appreciated that. One other tip for anyone trading in a vehicle: I went to CarMax beforehand so I knew exactly what I could get for my trade. CarMax offered me double what Gettel offered, so it wasn't worth bothering to negotiate any higher at that point, so I completed the Tacoma purchase without the trade and went back to CarMax afterward. Selling it there was incredibly easy and took about an hour from start to finish. All in all, everything worked out and I'm happy with the Tacoma. For anyone shopping for a used vehicle, another resource I'd recommend is the website (visor.vin). I found it really useful for researching vehicles, pricing, inventory history, and comparable listings. It's also the vehicle-data resource used by Delivrd, the car-negotiation company. Just wanted to share my experience for anyone shopping in the area. Thanks again to everyone at Gettel Lakewood and I suppose I owe you a small thank-you for turning down my original offer! 🙂

She walked me through all my warranty options in a clear and easily comprehensible manner. She was very friendly and made the paperwork a pleasure to complete. I kept them both in the office late during the middle of the week, but you would never have known from their performance. They are both a credit to your business and car sales generally. I didn’t not interact with management, but overall Gettel Toyota of Bradenton appears to be an exemplary car dealership. So I contacted Toyota of Lakewood now 6 times and can't get ANYBODY to call me back. Literally the worst after purchase experience I've ever had. Heck they even got me for the several thousand dollar Toyota Care Service even though its a Ford when I purchased this vehicle from them. I have had nothing but problems since I bought this truck from them and I can't even get them to call me back. It's so sad that I paid so much for a vehicle and they just dont care that I've had issues from the very beginning.

Was ready to buy a new tacoma and went in to get an appraisal for my trade in. They came back with $4000 UNDER Kelley Blue Book value! They claimed they thought i just wanted to sell it. I was confident that they would be the dealership that I would love but boy was I wrong! After a couple days went by they called and I addressed my concerns, they apologized and said they would find out what happened. Sure enough, never heard back from them! I went to Sarasota Ford and they gave me the full value of my trade in and guess what! I walked out with a new truck the same day! Sorry Gettel Toyota, you snooze you lose.
