Toyota Warranty Overview and Coverage Details
Your new Toyota model comes with a Basic Limited Warranty and may also come with an Accessories Warranty and Hybrid Warranty (if applicable). If you choose a Toyota Certified Used Vehicle (TCUV), your model will come with a TCUV Warranty.1
The New Vehicle Warranty includes:
Basic Coverage
A new Toyota model comes with a basic limited warranty that covers the electrical and mechanical parts of your vehicle. Everyday wear and tear from driving is not covered.
Powertrain Coverage
This covers your vehicle’s front-wheel or rear-wheel drive system, transmission/transaxle, airbags and seatbelts.
Rust-Through Coverage
Rust-Through Coverage covers the corrosion perforation of sheet metal.
Emissions Coverage
Emission Coverage varies due to Federal regulations and those that apply to residents of California. For more information, refer to your Toyota model’s Warranty & Maintenance Guide.
Additional Warranties
Accessories Warranty
If you purchase accessories along with your Toyota vehicle, those accessories will be covered for 36 months/36,000 miles.1 If you buy a Toyota accessory after the purchase of your vehicle, that part will be covered for 12 months (from the installation date) or for the remainder of your New Vehicle Warranty — whichever is longer.1
Toyota Certified Used Vehicle
Toyota Certified Used Vehicles go through a 160-point quality inspection, and TCU Hybrid Vehicles go through a 174-point quality inspection. Also, a limited comprehensive warranty starts on the vehicle’s purchase date and covers both Toyota Certified Used hybrids and gas-powered cars.2
Hybrid Warranty
A hybrid vehicle comes with the Toyota New Vehicle Warranty, as well as Hybrid-Related Component Coverage which covers the HV battery, hybrid control module and inverter with converter and battery control module.1
Hybrid vehicles were initially covered for eight years or 100,000 miles. Now, vehicles from the model year 2020 and newer are covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
